A lot happens in a month!

So here we are at the end of May. Where is this year going. We had a well deserved family break this month. We enjoyed the wedding of Sarah Stimson in Turkey. You can see pictures here

Sarah and Steve will both be at the Delivering the new PR 2.0 on Tue 5th June. Please come and say hello if you have read either of our rantings.

We have just launched a new group on facebook (pr job watch) for all things PR jobs. This is an open, free place for candidates to check out the latest jobs and recruiters to post jobs and try social media for their clients.

Had the chance to catch up with Chris Bignell this week who seems to be doing really well. His new venture is exciting and keeping him busy.

We need candidates!!!!!!!!!!!

The PR talent pool is getting smaller as we speak. Why? Is it the long hours, the demanding clients, the little thanks! Why are people moving out of agency PR? We head-hunt all the time for our clients and the anthem at AD and Ass Dir level seems to be "i've had it with agency find me something in-house". What is the allure of In-house? Would love to know.

We are working on a number of agency and in-house roles across Tech, Pharma and Consumer. If you would like to talk then please call or email.

So tonights the night of the big party. If you are wondering what on earth I am talking about get yourself over to TWL - I am sure the night will be a fine event and there are a few free drinks around as well.

WOW - What a Week!

My wife Lydia is back home and getting better - thank God.

Lydia is an amazing woman and having her out of action, at all, effects everything; the home, the kids and the business. She will be up and running again in a few weeks. Lydia is spending most of the time in bed, but with the 'vaio' we have managed to meet up in Second Life when I have been at the office - lots of fun for the curious. I have also found my relaxation time at 11pm at night being drawn to Battlefield 2142

This week has been full on! Managing 4 kids under 7, to and from school and nursery, along with managing a team at Indigo Red and making sure Lydia is fed and watered, a very busy time!

On the Indigo Red front we are delighted to be working with TWL and sponsoring their Christmas drinks on Wed 6th December. Hope to see many of you there. Venue TBA but we are getting close. Thank you Stuart Bruce for discussing this idea with me.

'The Worlds Leading' are remaining anonymous! Does this fit in with the social media transparency message?! Not sure - am going to think some more on this. We may have a prize on the night for anyone who guesses who they are!

The search business is getting busier and busier as companies continue to search for talent on a global basis. We have moved on with all our searches, speaking to more interesting candidates.

Is it just a gaming thing!

I am trying to work out if my urge to dive into Second life again tonight is a pure gamers one or business driven! I am not really sure. I have enjoyed networing with Neville and others in Crayonville and even surfing and dancing on one of the islands yesterday. Some great Ambient tunes! What I cannot work out yet how is this different from The Sims? I was invited to church yesterday.

So is this the 'new thing' or should I say 'old thing', it has been going a few years, that will keep me up at night? Battlefield 2 and other similar multiplayer games where you can actually talk to via VOIP your fellow gamers are very adictive.

Perhaps it is the sence of community that is drawing me in. I know getting to know the other gamers if only over VOIP was very rewarding and we had many laughs. I am sure Second life will do the same.

But for us as Talent scouts and head-hunters will it be the business environment that can help deliver what our clients want? Great PR talent, quickly and on budget? Not sure!
